What We Believe

We believe that the message of the Bible is that God loves all people without exception or condition. All people are created in God's image to bring peace, love, and justice to the world. We believe that through faith in Jesus Christ, we are given new life. Through this we are called to be Christ-like in the world today. The Holy Spirit sustains us in our faith walk, makes God's love known to us and empowers us to share God's love with others.

We believe that the community of faith, the church, is a place of strength, comfort and hope in a world that is often self destructive and unloving.

We believe in calling people to new life through the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe in Christian social action, confronting the injustice of poverty, racism, homophobia, sexism, class-ism and all the ways we separate ourselves from one another.

We believe in creating a community of healing and reconciliation through faith, hope, and love.

What To Expect Sunday

We meet on Sunday mornings at 9 and 11am. We respect one another and we respect the holiness of our place of worship. We simply ask that you come, whether you come in jeans & t-shirts or suits and dresses - just come!

Holy Communion is served at every service, and we celebrate an open communion table. This means that you do not have to be a member of St. Jude MCC or any other church to receive the gifts of God. We bless and share the Communion meal, but it is God who blesses and makes us holy. Christ gave but one requirement for His supper: "Do this in remembrance of me."

Join us for brunch immediately following our 11am service (around 12:15pm). Just bring an appetite and a smile! Ask about joining one of our brunch team - it's not only fun but our way of extending the Communion table beyond the altar.

As a rapidly growing church, we offer many opportunities, and have a great need for your participation in our small group ministries and outreach programs.

We celebrate life's ceremonies: holy unions and weddings, blessings, christenings, baptism and funerals.

Who We Are

St Jude Metropolitan Community Church is a member of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC). We are a Christian church serving the religious, spiritual, and social needs of people who find themselves on the margins of society. Our primary outreach is to gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered people, our friends, our families, our allies and our supporters.

We are a church that celebrates diversity in God's creation.
St. Jude blends religious & cultural traditions, ethnic & racial backgrounds, and social classifications.

We believe in One God as revealed through Holy Scripture. Our supreme witness to God is revealed through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. 

We believe the apostle Paul was speaking for God in
I Corinthians 12: 12-27, when he wrote that we are all different, and we will have different gifts, but we will work as one as the body of Christ.

 It is our diversity that gives us strength and understanding. It is our diversity that awakens us to the full, wonderful spectrum of God's creativity in the human race. Thank God for the uniqueness of each person and the gifts that God has given them.

We are families and single people; adults, children, and youth; students, retired persons, unemployed, and professionals. We are a community where everyone is welcome.
